Glorious bouquets filled with the best of August. August is prime dahlia season. These bouquets had two-tone blush dahlias, White Ohara Roses, Pink Mondial Roses, Playa Blanca Roses, with spray roses, freesia, ranunculus, lisianthus, waxflower and foliages including eucalyptus.
Our couple was on a tighter budget, so we did a more simple centrepiece so we could go WOW for bouquets and ceremony. The couple provided the wood slice (can be sold afterward), candle holders and candles (not yet placed when I took these photos – also can be sold after the wedding) and I provided and designed the foliages and greens on the tables once everything was in place. This option gives a full size centrepiece while keeping costs lower. If you are getting married at McMichael Gallery – I do not suggest this kind of option for this venue. We made it work, but we had less than 2 hours for the complete reception set up from access to guests arrival. It was tight. Though McMichael was a gorgeous venue, because of it’s consistent tight turn arounds I recommend a drop and go kind of centrepiece. I used Italian Ruscus, Asparagus Plumosa and Seeded Eucalyptus. It took the entire 2 hours for 2 staff to complete these centrepieces (18 tables).
These 3 sided arrangements were used for the ceremony and then again in the reception behind the head table. It might seem like a big investment for your big day, but they can be easily moved and re-purposed. The venue was quite rustic indoors, so we matched the venue with the wrought iron stands and then modernized it with the glass vases. Erin wanted a modern romatic garden look for these arrangements that suited both the styles of the ceremony and reception. I think they turned out beautifully!
