I’m THRILLED with the Pantone Colour of the Year. I may be a month behind on the announcement, but I have had plenty of time to think about all the coral I can be using in the future. I have an orange wedding coming up in May, so I might just pop some living coral in there to keep it fab. It’s warm and peachy and a lovely hue.
The most famous peony, the Coral Charm, has been a client and florist favourite for years. It’s expensive and a total show stopper.
I have a favourite coral rose, Movie Star, but she is more of a bright vibrant coral, than it is a softer tone. Though, paired with the right peach, could be a major schmooze to soften it and give the perfect coral hue.
Coral pairs well with so many shades, it’s hard to choose a favourite combination, but I am definitely going to be wearing it on my fingers and toes come spring time. I think paired with peaches and burgundies might look nice in the autumn as a more muted tone – more like a terra cotta. In the summer, could be livened up with pinks and yellows. What combinations could you see with the shade? And would you consider it for your flowers for your big day?
